The Origine of JADIS

 

Every year, Diane Benoit – the creator’s aunt, organizes a big family gathering at her cottage in the heart of the Laurentians.

 The Benoit family is composed of passionate people, eager to participate in games and solve riddles, tell stories and play tricks to each other!

 After several years of family laughter, Aunt Diane had to sell her cottage to retire. His nephew Francois offered to take over by adding his own personal touch. This is how the famous meeting of Benoit was born.

 By developing and testing dozens of historical intrigues plots to animate his family’s annual reunions, Francois Benoit noticed their interest in the history of their ancestors and the regions of our province. This is where the idea of JADIS came to be: a virtual adventure game offering a new way to learn or rediscover history through a collaborative combination of puzzle solving and treasure hunting.

Two years of preparation were necessary in order to refine the plots of this game which allowed the Benoit family to discover the history of Quebec and its heroes as well as the path of their own descendants.

2008

A meticulous riddle leading up to the opening of the Gate of Time taking place in the year 2045.

A plot game featuring a famous Benoit photographer who used the camera obscura, where the subject was seen upside down, hence the name HEROS in reverse!

Conceptualizing JADIS


An original way to increase family tourism for the municipalities of Quebec by creating an interest in their history.

Paranormal intrigue leading to the discovery of a Benoit murderer.

Business Plan


Presentation of the business plan of the Trésist project (now JADIS) to more than 10 municipalities in the Quebec province.

2018

Socio-financing & creation of JADIS


Crowdfounding in cooperation with La Ruche and presentation of the project to various Montreal investors.

To optimize the accessibility of JADIS, the decision was made to launch a virtual version of the game.

2019

Programmation & branding


Officially launching the production of the virtual game, the branding and design of the various elements as well as the marketing process.

COVID-19 gives us some pitfalls, postponing the final results to the end of 2021.

Renaming and creation of the JADIS Quebec project.
